Our Story and Our Approach
For over 10 years, I've dedicated my passion and expertise to breeding companion Australian Shepherds and Miniature American Shepherds (also known as Miniature Australian Shepherd or the Mini Aussie) with a focus on health, temperament, and the qualities that make them the popular adored family members they are. However, my journey into the world of responsible breeding began long before that. From breeding fancy rats to exotic parrots, my love for creating, nurturing and enhancing the lives of animals in preparation for those who will call them family, has been a lifelong pursuit.
As a proud member of the Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) and the Miniature American Shepherd Club of America (MASCUSA), I am committed to upholding the standards set forth by these organizations. Currently, I have the honor of serving as a board director for the national breed club for the Miniature American Shepherd MASCUSA, and as the chairperson of the Stud Book Research Committee for MASCUSA where I contribute to the advancement and preservation of the AKC Miniature American shepherd, also lovingly known as the Mini American Shepherd or Mini Aussie.
My breeding philosophy centers around producing healthy, well-tempered companions who seamlessly integrate into family life. Each Australian Shepherd and Miniature American Shepherd bred here embodies the intelligence, athleticism, and unwavering loyalty, alongside health, beauty, and structure that define the breed and an ideal family pet. While I enjoy showing my dogs in AKC, UKC and engaging in a variety of dog-centered sports and activities, I do so with the utmost care, ensuring that titling never compromises the well-being of my dogs or detracts from my primary goal of creating and fostering healthy, happy family companions.
Beyond breeding, I am dedicated to providing ongoing support and guidance to the families who welcome my puppies into their homes. From puppyhood to adulthood, I am committed to ensuring that each dog enjoys a fulfilling and enriched life as a cherished member of their family.
I am fortunate to have the support of my husband Casey and our three daughters, who all actively participate in the care, training, and raising of our dogs. Together, as a family, we pour our hearts and souls into ensuring the well-being and happiness of every member of our breeding program.
Thank you for considering Painted Blue Aussies and Minis, Australian Shepherds and Miniature American Shepherds (Mini Aussies) for your next furry companion.

Our Dogs and Puppies Are Family
At Painted Blue Aussies and Mini Aussies, we believe in nurturing confident and adaptable puppies from the very start. Our puppies are born and raised in our home, where they receive daily handling and interaction with our family members, including children. They are exposed to a wide range of household sounds, smells, and textures, ensuring they become familiar and comfortable with their surroundings and content to explore new stimuli with confidence. Additionally, we implement early neurological stimulation techniques and introduce them to various outdoor environments, encouraging exploration and building resilience. By providing a supportive and enriching environment, we strive to cultivate puppies who are at ease with new experiences and environments, ready to embark on a lifetime of happy and comfortable companionship with their new families.
